The annual inflation rate in Zambia rose to 11.7 percent in December 2019 from 10.8 percent in the prior month, mainly due to higher prices of food (15.2 percent vs. 13.5 percent in November). On a monthly basis, consumer prices inched up 1.6 percent, after increasing 1 percent in the previous month.
